TWL PM 2021: Pride Month Horror Special – Eight Wicked Tales

It's our 2021 Pride Month Horror Special!

For Pride Month we're celebrating LBGTQ+ voices with eight dark tales written by eight amazingly talented queer writers, and presented by TWL alum and author, Davis Walden. Davis is also the creator of the Viridian Wild, an Audio Drama Podcast. For almost every tale we’ve matched a queer voice to the tale to maximize representation

  1. "A Little Too Late for Little Green Men", by Hailey Piper - Told by Skylar McElwee
An unfriendly encounter at a party for UFO enthusiasts turns from hateful to strange when the real deal preys on Demeter the same night.
  2. "Eleven", by Briana Morgan - Told by Addison Peacock
A grieving girl chooses to play a dangerous Internet game for the chance to see her dead girlfriend again.
  3. "Preserved by Tears", by Mel - Told by Nathan Blades
They are paid to watch, not get involved, but Alex can't help the tickling curiosity of it all. What happens behind the apothecary's doors that leaves every employee a crying mess?
  4. "The Mell Well", by Davis Walden - Told by Michael A Turrentine
Two friends trek out into the jungle to explore an abandoned building, but something has already made its home there.
  5. "Holy Water", by M. Regan - Told by Addison Peacock
In the wastes of a world gone dry, a sea witch ruminates on the creation of water while her partner mulls on its memory. On their memories. And on how many times she has killed her lover.
  6. "Ténèbres Mon Amour", by Pippa Bailey - Told by Erika Sanderson
A non-binary horror story, about love between the undefined, amid the destruction and rebirth of Darkness itself.
  7. "Tie a Black Thread to Everything that Remains", by Eric LaRocca - Told by Louie Pollard
A frightened, young schoolboy. A love that “dare not speak its name”. A phantom with a sinister warning. A student at an English boarding school learns of love and loss when a fellow classmate perishes unexpectedly during the winter recess.
  8. "Everything She's Looking For", by Caitlin Marceau - Told by Alicia Atkins
This queer horror-romance explores the dangers of giving too much of yourself to a relationship. It looks at the connection between two young women and what happens when that love becomes toxic.

The story is based upon the Highway of Tears, a Canadian highway from British Columbia to Alberta. The bodies of 19 First Nation’s women have been discovered along the stretch of road, but more than 40 women are said to have been taken from Highway 16 over the years.

Mae March, the Mad Mistress of the Mad Marshes is the most dominant fragmentation of the already compartmentalized mind known as the Mad Marshes. The chosen name itself is little more than a quirky twist on her most beloved character from the colorful cast of a favored childhood book.

Her writing began at an early age, starting with scripts and short skits which she would enact for her ever humoring cousin, but didn't take a turn toward terror until college and life in the harshness of what most of you think is reality showed her droll the world was, and how desperately it needed a little nettling in the noggin to open it's eyes to the shadows lurking in the corners.

Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer, editor, and literary critic.Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre.

Lafcadio Hearn, known also by the Japanese name Koizumi Yakumo (小泉 八雲?), was an international writer, known best for his books about Japan, especially his collections of Japanese legends and ghost stories, such as Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things.
