TPC 109: “Crime Scenes Ain’t What They Used to Be”, by Aaron Vlek

The Private Collector returns. This show explores The Librarian’s mission and delves deep into the occult and mystical realms in a way sure to give you the whim-whams!

Story: “Crime Scenes Just Ain’t What They Used to Be”,  by Aaron Vlek

It seems Frank made it back all in one piece, in a manner of speaking, from his leisurely little vacation out west with Coyote. But now it’s time to get back to work and he’s on his own this time. It seems a stranger has turned up dead at the old Jessup place and Frank pulls out the toys of his trade to find out what’s happened. Besides that corpse done up in its fancy duds there’s a brand new well out back and well, let’s just say it’s not refreshing spring water that’s oozing up from its murky depths.

Tune in to see Frank at work and in his element on some fine old time occult sleuthing, with The Librarian  peeking over his shoulder now and then to make sure he doesn’t make a right fine mess of things in HIS TOWN!

TPC 108: “The Book of Skins and Bone”, by Aaron Vlek

The Private Collector returns. This show explores The Librarian’s mission and delves deep into the occult and mystical realms in a way sure to give you the whim-whams!

Story: “The Book of Skins and Bone”,  by Aaron Vlek

Do you believe in Coyote? I mean really believe? Because if you do, then you know if he wants you he just trots right up and hoists his leg and marks you as his own. He doesn’t ask if you’re interested or not or what gods you pray to or don’t or even the color of your hide. Then again, maybe he just needed to relieve himself and you got in the way!

Frank has grown a bit weary of the adventures The Librarian has sent him on. All for his own good, according to The Librarian who seems to haver Frank’s best interests at heart! But Mr. Enfield remains unconvinced at times and can’t help but doubt The Librarian’s good advice! Who better to help Frank work through his misgivings than Coyote himself?

Frank might not return from this caper, but if he does, he’ll have to buckle down and get to work and stop playacting at the detective business. After all, the stakes are too high to rely on someone who still takes themselves as seriously as Frank does and Coyote is just the one to rearrange that high opinion he has of himself!

TWL 911: Amity in Bloom, by Jessica McHugh

Today's story is by the amazing Jessica McHugh, and is part of Nightscape Press's 2018 Ashes & Entropy anthology. This tale also made Ellen Datlow's recommended list of Best Horror of 2019.

Miss Jennie Creagh's brothel on Amity Street comes highly recommended by The Gentleman's Directory, and her freak show in the little house across the road ain't bad either. But after sixteen years, Polly's ready to graduate to the big house, where Miss Jennie's girls want for nothing, and she'll never again have to hear the haunting song of the devil-girl living in the cellar.

But the Madam of Amity is abloom with secrets, and Polly soon discovers just how deep those roots go.

TWL 910: An Extra Wicked Anthology

It’s time for another quarterly Extra Wicked Anthology Episode! Today we bring you three great tales from the darker side of things.

TPC 107: “The Son of Smokeless Fire”, by Aaron Vlek

The Private Collector returns. This show explores The Librarian’s mission and delves deep into the occult and mystical realms in a way sure to give you the whim-whams!

Story: “The Son of Smokeless Fire”,  by Aaron Vlek

Frank thinks he’s the bee’s knees when it comes to magic and all things arcane. But where would he be without The Librarian?  A two-bit occult detective running the same cases time and time again and learning nothing for his troubles!  This time The Librarian sends Frank on a caper to foreign shores where he gets a taste of magical beasties he’s never even heard of before. Nothing like a nice roll in the hay with the terrifying unknown to tarnish the sheen of the old ego!

Cairo!  In that city teeming with ancient magics Frank comes face to face with a jinn, scads of them, including an old friend of The Librarian’s. Frank finds himself blindfolded and marched at sword point out into the desert where he meets a thoroughly revolting congregation of miscreants and the pernicious tome they worship. He was told by the jinn that its nefarious author was long dead these many centuries, but can one ever be certain of anything where the jinn are concerned?  Ever heard of the Necronomicon, well, have you?

Tune in to find out if Frank makes it out alive, or not!
