Dana M. Lewis is President and CEO of In Other Words, LLC, a highly sought-after writing and consulting firm specializing in speechwriting, strategic and crisis communications, ghostwriting, leadership legacy, and provides public speaking coaching

In 2007, Ms. Lewis joined the Obama for America campaign as one of Senator Obama’s trusted advance aides, a role which was both historic and afforded additional opportunities for professional development and knowledge. In November 2008, Ms. Lewis transitioned into the White House Residence for President Obama and as Special Assistant and Personal Aide to First Lady Michelle Obama.

Ms. Lewis is an experienced orator and keynote speaker. Additionally, she is a skilled and media savvy surrogate, effective moderator and panelist. Past national and international events include: The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Hampton University’s William R. Harvey Leadership Development Program, Harvard University’s School of Public Policy, Essence Magazine’s Public Policy Forum, The National Education Association, NAACP Freedom Fund Gala (Stamford, CT), Global Situation Room, and female executives from the Australian federal, state, and public services sectors in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

She has been published in The New York Daily News, People Magazine, Fresh Lifestyle Magazine, Accenture’s Global Network of Health Experts, Eat, Darling, Eat, and NYC Midnight Writer’s Challenge. Pending op-eds are related to health care public policy, social justice, and addressing the mental health crisis and increase of completed suicides in the Black community.
